Chevrolet's vision of the future of automobile style was unveiled at the annual SEMA car show in Las Vegas, NV recently. Featuring ultra-sleek lines and fuel efficency that would make any commuter proud, its models were a big hit with consumers and automobile experts alike.
The design trend seemed to go two different ways. Flashy sports car models like the Camaro and Corvette awed the audience with their ultra-sleek lines and features designed for exceptional road handling. The Camaro took top honors, winning the title, Hottest Car, for the second year in a row. In particular, the audience was wowed by the Camaro 1LE and Camaro 1LE Carbon concept cars. The ZL1 Carbon catches the eye with its exposed-weave carbon fiber trim on the hood, rear spoiler, and instrument panel. The ZL1 Carbon rides on 20 inch, satin black wheels, adding to the car's aggressive stance. Brembo brakes, a dual exhaust kit with active exhaust and diffuser and magnetic ride control keep the performance aspect of this car up to speed. Both the Camaro 1LE and Camaro 1LE Carbon concept cars are designed to be competition ready and deliver speed and performance in leaps and bounds.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the audience was treated to a vision of fun, yet practical day-to-day driving with models such as the Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze Dusk. These cars deliver the combination of style and fuel economy consumers crave. The Cruze Eco, one of the models showcased, checks in at 42 MPG, with the turbo models having a cruising range of more than 500 miles. Both cars' stylish lines and comfortable interiors impressed the crowd. The Chevrolet Sonic Dusk, for example, boasts sedan roominess, a sleek profile and 18-inch wheels finished in Galvano Silver. The Sonic Dusk Concept's interior is bathed in leather and sports custom seat inserts. A flat-bottom steering wheel with suede accents and a custom audio system complete the package.
Choices abound in the automobile industry, but Chevrolet stands out among the crowd with its striking concept car lineup. With models like these in Chevrolet's arsenal, it's sure to be a great year for the veteran car company.
