Almost everyone in the world knows about Chevrolet or Chevy vehicles. Chevy has produced many famous cars since its foundation. One of the best ways for them test new features is on the race track, "things we learn on the track influence the Chevrolet cars, trucks and crossovers we build for you. Our engineers call it 'tech transfer' and it's why we race." Talking about their race history, Chevrolet has participated in many series like NASCAR, Grand AM, ALMS, World Touring Car Championship etc.
Since the start of NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series in 1947, Chevrolet has been the choice of many drivers. Chevy has proved to be tough competition to its competitors, both on tracks and off the track. The team for NASCAR includes Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer.
In American Le Mans Series, it has proven its outstanding performance. In almost each season Chevrolet Corvette appears. Today twin Corvette C6.R race cars, has the latest technology and is an icon of superb engineering design. It is based on Corvette ZR1 supercar. The team for this series includes Olivier Beretta, Oliver Gavin, Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen, Tommy Milner and Richard Westbrook.
Chevy has also proven it's self in AMERICAN SPORTS-CAR RACING. It won Rolex Series GT Class at the Mid-Ohio race track with the drivers Robin Liddell and Ronnie Bremer and the first Manufacturers' Championship for Chevrolet in GRAND-AM Rolex GT competition. Chevrolet competes in both classes of GRAND-AM Prototype series. In Grand Touring(GT) class it competes with Camaro while in Daytona Prototype class Corvette is used.
Chevy is also preparing for upcoming 2012 IZOD IndyCar series and the Detroit Grand Prix. In short, Chevy has played a main part in many racing series and is planning for the best in future series.
