Customized Chevrolet Silverado

Powerful, Customizable, Inexpensive The Chevrolet Silverado is a popular type of full-size pickup truck made by GMC. They are meant for heavy duty work as they are a full-size truck. These trucks can be easily customized depending on the specific model of Silverado you choose. These trucks are usually either rear-wheel or four wheel drive. A buyer has the option of getting a regular or extended cab, extended cabs having the option of 3 or 4 doors. The Chevrolet Silverado is essentially the same as the Sierra, which is considered the luxury version. However, today the Silverado is advertised as the standard model, and is less expensive. There is a little variation in the engine and on the trim on the vehicle, but the differences are minor. The term Silverado was generally used to refer to the C/K trucks GMC made between the years 1975 - 1999. The term has now been broadened to refer to the models being made today. Today’s models have been upgraded from those made two decades ago, including better upholstery, different exterior colors, and better fitted pieces in the interior. The powertrains have been upgraded to a V8 in latest (2007-present) models of the Silverado. The Silverado is a highly praised model, with a Kelly Blue Book rating of 4.6. The Chevrolet Silverado is an ideal work truck. Their powerful engines and maximum towing capability make them a good choice for anyone needed a truck able to pull a heavy workload. The Silverado is also an excellent choice for people who wish to add a lot of customization to their vehicle – cab size, three different bed lengths (short, standard, and extended) and options for trim and the panels in the dashboard. There are also the options of getting a 6 speed automatic or a 4 speed manual transmission. There is even a HD (heavy duty) option for people wanting even more power. Most variations of the Silverado get an average of 15 city/ 20 highway miles per gallon. Depending on size and customization of the vehicle, the Silverado will cost the buyer between $22,000 and $40,000 – a great price for a powerful truck.

Huge Celebration at O'Rielly this Weekend

This weekend at O'Rielly Chevrolet we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet. We began serving Arizona in 1924 at 55 North Sixth Avenue and was Tucson's first Chevy dealer. After a couple moves and restorations we now have 2 locations and are still providing Tucson with be best opportunity to get into a Chevy 87 years later. Just like our growth over the years Chevrolet has made some great strides. The Chevy Volt is the Motor Trend Car of the Year, the Camaro is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a monster 580 HP, 6.2L V8 and the Chevrolet Malibu has been Consumers Digest "Best Buy" for 3 years running.

Here is a quick breakdown of what we will be doing over the next few days for the Chevy 100 Celebration.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 7pm El Charro will be catered in for everyone to enjoy. There will also be radio stations set up at O'Rielly throughout the weekend.

Each day we will host a local car club. On Thurday from 3pm to 6pm the Tucson Corvette Club will be at O'Rielly. Come down and check out some of their awesome cars. Free food and music will also be provided.

On Friday the Doorslammers will bring their car club from 3pm to 6pm.  Check out their Facebook page to see what to expect. It should be great fun for the entire family.

Chevrolet is Turning 100

O'Rielly Chevrolet
Today I get to tell you about some of the really cool things we have planned for Chevrolet's 100th anniversary!

Incase you haven't seen, Chevrolet has really gone all out to celebrate this great milestone. They recently held a vote to see what Chevy car or truck you thought was the best of all time and the '69 Camaro kept edging out the other Chevrolet models.

1969 Camaro - Chevrolet 100
By 1969 the Camaro was extremely popular. And though this was the final year of the Camaro's original iconic design, it went out with flying colors. The '69 Camaro paced the Indianapolis 500® for the second time. It was the first and only year the legendary aluminum ZL1 engine was offered, and the Z28® SS/RS performance package qualified the '69 Camaro to compete in the Trans-Am racing series. It's still considered one of the hottest-looking rides of the classic muscle car era. It had a 290-horsepower rating but tested at close to 400. This four-wheeled icon has graced the silver screen many times. InAlmost Famous, a young William Miller watches his sister drive off with her boyfriend in a blue 1969 Camaro coupe. And a slightly earlier version stars as the famous black beauty in Better Off Dead.
There are some other pretty cool things you can do over on the Chevrolet 100 website, http://www.chevrolet.com/100-years/. They have created a Pandora Radio station that plays all of the tunes that pay tribute to Chevrolet like Don McClean's  "American Pie." Even I didn't realize there were that many songs about Chevys.

We keep rolling out new activities for you and you family to enjoy. I recommend taking a look at the Chevy 100 Facebook page to check out when there will be events in your areas. At O'Rielly Chevrolet in Tucson we will be having a huge event November 17th through the 19th. There will be a lot of cool things going on with music, food, fun and of course deals. I will post more information about the specifics of the event tomorrow on the blog and on our Facebook page.
